China’s Golden Week holiday is often seen as an important time of the year to gauge China’s domestic demand, including retail and box office sales, tourism and catering. 

This has taken on extra significance this year, with economists and traders looking to see if President Xi Jinping’s latest stimulus blitz can reinvigorate the country’s downcast consumers.
