根据联合国的评估，在一个月内，以色列的攻击已经造成黎巴嫩北部2000人死亡，超过百万人流离失所。
美国、法国以及黎巴嫩的看守政府一直在努力促成停火协议，但都徒劳无功。
以色列总理内坦亚胡在10月6日宣称，以色列目前正同时在七条战线上作战。这些战线涉及不同地点或对象，分别是：加沙的哈马斯、黎巴嫩的真主党、也门的胡塞武装、叙利亚、伊拉克，约旦河西岸的抵抗组织，以及伊朗。
