Have you ever had a conversation with a forensic pathologist? Perhaps you have watched Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) TV shows where the deceased undergoes an autopsy. The forensic pathologist would examine the body in detail to determine the actual cause of death. On this podcast, Simon Lim features Dr. Lee Chin Thye, Senior Consultant Forensic Pathologist with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) in Singapore. What are some unnatural deaths that Dr. Lee has come across in his work? In unnatural or unexplained death, what is the ideal time frame for collecting forensic evidence?   How do forensic pathologists handle severely decomposed bodies? What is the strangest thing that Dr. Lee has discovered from examining a deceased person?   If a post-mortem of the body is required, what needs to be done? Dr. Lee will describe the process.  Some people have reported that a dead body can have discoloration of the skin - which may vary from pink to dark purplish or in layman terms, "black". What causes this?   Can the remains of the departed be used in forensic investigation after cremation where some fragments of bones are kept with the ashes? Find out the answers from Dr. Lee Chin Thye, Senior Consultant Forensic Pathologist, Health Sciences Authority (HSA).  This interview was first heard on the radio show, "NIGHTS WITH SIMON" on ONE FM 91.3, a station of SPH Media.  Download this podcast for free and enjoy listening to the interview.  ONE FM 91.3Find out more about ONE FM 91.3 via onefm.sg SIMON LIMFollow Simon Lim on Instagram via @simonlim.personality @onefm913. @sphmediasg. #healthsciencesauthoritysingapore. #hsasg #hsa. #autopsy #forensic #forensicscience#forensicpathologist. #forensicpathology #crimesceneinvestigation. #unnaturaldeath. #unexplaineddeath. #forensicevidence #csi#healthsciencesauthority #latenightradio @awedio.sg #radioland #nightswithsimon  #nightswithsimonlim  #radiosingapore  #singaporeradiodj  #ラジオdj #こんばんは #singaporeradiodeejays  #singaporedj  #announcer  #radiosingapore  #singaporeradio #radiopersonalitySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
